UM Womens Happenings
The Union Park United Methodist Church has an active United Methodist Women's unit.
Their general meeting is the first Thursday of each month
beginning in October through May with no meeting in January.
The Leadership Team members are:
Roberta Peters - Chairperson
Jan Birkinbine - Secretary
Kathy Hillman - Treasurer
Marcia Fox - Program Coordinator
Sandy Adams - Publicity Coordinator
The Leadership Team meets regularly to plan for activities and programs.
Our goal is to build on our heritage as "Women organized for mission, on
behalf of women, children, and youth". Methodist women have been in
mission for nearly 140 years.
Our annual fundraisers include rummage and bake sales in April and
September and a Cavatelli Dinner in October. In 2007, $5,000 was
given to mission.
The Central District of UMW establishes annual criteria of achievements
for units. In 2007-2008 year, our unit was recognized as a Five Star
unit in mission giving. Our unit was also awarded a gold certificate
for being a Mission Today unit. We will be working on becoming a
platinum unit this year.
These achievements could not have been possible without the assistance
of the United Methodist Men's unit of our church.
The Leadership Team wants every woman in the church to join the United
Methodist Women. Membership is open to any woman who indicates her
desire to belong. Please contact a Leadership Team member or the church for details.

but we no long have space to receive furniture, TVs and Computers.
