Wouldn't you like to help a Child?
What a summer we are having! Children are discovering new people and places, making new friends and for some, discovering what church is all about. ... It is not just a building but a different way of living.
What a joy it is to participate in children learning new perspectives.
We are offering you an opportunity to be a part of their experience.
"I can't teach" you say - that's fine - can you assist someone else who is willing to teach?
Sometimes it is to be there and hold a child's hand. That feels pretty good.
We also need: some assistance in preparing classrooms for the Fall Education Program.
On Wednesday, August 12th after Up Kids, at 6:00 P.M. we want to clean, rearrange and decorate the children's classrooms. We need ideas as well as helping hands. Please come and see what were doing.

Education --- Harlan Christensen. Regarding the Up Kids, Marcia and Jerry Waugh are looking into the requirements to get a better oversight on the Up-Kids. Some of our original kids are going into Jr. High and we need to know what we can do to separate them from the younger kids. Sunday school starts September 6. Chuck Marvin has done a lot of work for the Sunday school. He has painted and made the coat closets into cabinets with doors. Cards have been sent out regarding cleaning the Sunday school rooms and getting them ready for September 6. For the nursery, we need to get Christ centered pictures. The nursery also needs an attendant. Roxanne works upstairs and has indicated she will take this job. She is well qualified and we would pay an attendant $25 each Sunday for approximately two and one-half hours. This needs authorization by this board and there will have to be a background check. Harlan made a motion that we employ a person to be a Nursery Attendant at $25.00 per Sunday, starting September 6, 2009. Cathy Webb seconded the motion. Motion carried. Erin Schiltz said she will help with this. Erin will also be doing the Christmas Program this year. SPPRC can now proceed with this.
